Austrian artist sha. equips Cruise Ship AlphaSphere Premiere on board TUI Cruises "Mein Schiff" Vienna / Hamburg, 11.5.2009 Ship launching on May 15th 2009 in Hamburg harbor: "Mein Schiff", the first cruise ship by German TUI group, will be inaugurated during a mega event at which 25.000 guests are expected. On board is an special installation by Austrian artist and perception researcher sha. - an AlphaSphere MULTI, consisting of four of his internationally distinguished pieces of perception furniture, staged inside a holistic room, which was especially created for the first mobile Alpha project. The work of art, which is called "BLUE MOTION" is a highlight in the recreation area on the upper deck of the cruiser – a ship inside the ship: a space ship for the inner journey ...   THE EVENT On May 15th 2009 TUI CRUISES celebrates the launching of "Mein Schiff" and provides their guests on board and on the fish market Hamburg with a huge festival: Prima donna Anna Netrebko will sing the official ship hymn "Ocean of Love" and German star musicians Udo Lindenberg and Jan Delay will perform together for the very first time. The 886 ft. long "Mein Schiff" with a capacity of 2000 passengers will experience a huge welcome party at the home port – before she puts to sea. THE SPA On the upper deck of the cruiser, Germany´s leading wellness supplier KLAFS, has created a huge spa landscape referring to the sea by consisting of different interpretations of the topic 1000 Colors Blue. Part of this relaxation area is the so called BLUE MOTION ROOM by sha. Theo Künzel, TUI Spa operations manager, states: "When we started to plan the first TUI-Cruises spa, we quickly realized, that AlphaSphere would be the heart of it. These blue lounger objects with their soft rocking and vibration, the comfortable warmth and the sound waves fit perfectly into the space- and timelessness of the sea." BLUE MOTION The focus of this installation is on "letting go" and "going beyond the known territories" as well as expanding the horizons of the body and mind, says sha., the creator of the Blue Motion Room. According to sha., the effect of the included AlphaSphere has its origin in experiments with prenatal sounds. Users repeatedly report of phenomena of weightlessness, floating, flying and out-of-body experiences. Originally created as a work of art, AlphaSphere can be found in many different contexts today – from private lofts to public museums, from luxury spas to therapeutical practises and from offices to churches. sha. on this: "On open sea for the first time! This is a real premiere for AlphaSphere. After we had finished installing the room, the feeling rose inside of me, that something had found its way home in a very special way."
